Interfacing CR10X with RF401A

Jimi84 Sep 17, 2017 04:48 PM

Sir I have three Met stations with CR10X datalogger at remote locations, They are communicating with MD485 modules with Base station

Now I want to upgrade my system to wireless sytem for this I have purchased Four (04) RF401A modules

In the manual of MD485 it shows that it can connect through RF400

can I connect them in this sequence shown below?

LoggerNet---MD485===MD485---RF401A )))     (((RF401A---CR10X

                                                                       (((RF401A---CR10X2

                                                                        (((RF401A---CR10X3

can you help me to configure in this way or any wayout for me as I dont want to disturb old settings / program of CR10X

I assume your CR10X are running the standard mixed array OS, and not the Pakbus OS. That being the case, you will need to set the RF401A protocol to Transparent Mode and use them like RF400.

Please refer to the RF400 manual for the radio settings and Loggernet Setup.

Both MD485 should be set to:

  Active Ports: RS-232 and RS-485

  Protocolo: Transparent Communication

  Baud rates set to 9600

If the CR10X are running the Pakbus OS, you could use Network Planner.

My CR10X is working on MD9 protocol

I am unable to connect RF401A with MD485, I don't have A100 connector.

Can I make null modem cable my self or it is essential to connect via A100 module

Use the RS232 port on the MD485 and RF401A. Use a male to male null modem cable for the connection.

Thnx Sir,

I have tried this thing but failed. I dont know why this communication failed although I have verified communication link by using jumper on other side radio module.
